The Tankerton Arms is Tankerton's own micropub. The concept of a micropub was conceived by Martyn Hillier who has successfully run the Butcher's Arms in Herne for the past nine years and he has seen his idea spread across Kent and to the rest of the country with continuing success.

The name The Tankerton Arms was taken from an old Tankerton favourite which stood at the top of Tankerton Slopes and closed several years ago much to the dismay of locals and visitors alike. Our Tankerton Arms is a pub that encourages the drinking of real ales, mostly from local microbreweries, along with local ciders and a selection of wines from a local importer. Some soft drinks are also served. The choice of ales available changes frequently and so regular visits to the pub are recommended.

We believe the Tankerton Arms offers greater choice to people in the area and although there are no lagers and spirits, no music, cooked food, television or gaming machines the entertainment we offer is that of conversation. We also offer a good selection of snacks in the form of local cheese, scotch eggs from Surmans our local butcher, crisps and nuts.

The opening hours of the pub provide a relaxed drinking atmosphere and we hope that you will visit us to drink the very best of local beers accompanied by the best of local conversation.

So that you can keep up to date with us and what beers we are serving every day we can be followed on Facebook or Twitter.
